Oh hey there, my names Renske and you seem to have stumbled upon my personal blog.
My parents immigrated from the Netherlands to New Zealand around 25 years ago, which means I am a born and raised Kiwi and ever so grateful for it. I grew up in a very alternative family.
I believe that i am the sole creator, or artist if you please, of the life i choose to lead. Over the years I have come to realize that life is about balance and diversity (well for me, anyway). I could never work a 9-5 office job or be apart of the magnificent ‘rat race’ our society has created and thus always on the prowl for unique opportunities. Currently I’m working on an organic permaculture farm, learning about sustainable food systems, environmental care and growing nutrient dense foods.
I live for adventures. I love running. I may be hooked on the gym. Endorphins and vitamin D fuel me. Being 100% present and in the moment is a feeling I wish I could remain in indefinitely.
I’m a sucker for some vegetable based deserts and sweet treats (sorry, but really not sorry). Kumara brownies, avocado moose, chickpea chocolate chip cookies….all the goodness without the guilt, yes please!
I am also currently designing and building a container home (yeap, like a shipping container). Its both challenging and exciting. I’m a keen minimalist, and have learnt that so many of the material possessions we have serve no purpose. Ideally my container home will eventually be a cosy cabin in the woods ( just have to wait 20 years for my forest to grow). My next project will have to be converting a Van to explore more of New Zealand in!
My overactive brain has me constantly contemplating the meaning of life, what is happiness? how do i define success? what is my vision/mission. This drives me on my venture of self development and personal growth. I love reading and listening to podcasts, expanding my awareness and knowledge is somewhat addictive.
Holistic health is very close to my heart, I feel that we are blessed with a body we get to call our own to live out the human experience in so its only right we treat it with care, respect and also take it for a good spin every now and again (see what its capable of).
In the future I aspire to study environmental psychology so that one day I can work to reconnect people with the natural world. I want to show people that nature can heal us and in doing so make people more conscious of just how important it is to look after what nature we still have left.
Quotes
And then there is the most dangerous risk of all. The risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet that you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.
-Randy Komisar
Your mind will always believe everything you tell it. Feed it hope. Feed it truth. Feed it with love.

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.
– Denis Waitley
